What I like most about being a PT: I love being able to work with children through a play-based approach to help them learn new skills while having fun. I also enjoy providing parents with the education and support they need to work with their children at home and in the community. Getting to “play” all day with the kids keeps me young at heart.

Areas of training & expertise:I have worked exclusively with the pediatric population for 10 years in a variety of settings (outpatient clinics, in home, and in schools). I recently have become trained in Pediatric Pelvic Floor physical therapy, which includes issues such as day time accidents, night time accidents, and constipation. I have completed courses on Total Motion Release for Tots & Teens Levels 1-3. Other areas I have completed continuing education include: Toe-walking (Lisa Ritchie (Persaud)’s course), as well as Congenital Muscular Torticollis. I have extensive experience in working with infants, with some of my patients as young as one week old!

What I like most about being a PT: I enjoy seeing the parents reactions to their child achieving different milestones or performing different activities they couldn’t previously do; whether it is crawling for the first time, walking for the first time, jumping, and more.

What I like most about being an OT: I enjoy working in an outpatient setting because it allows me to continually learn from my fellow colleagues. What I like most about being an OT: I love sharing the “aha” moments with parents and kids. Anything from tying their shoe for the first time to excitedly exploring new foods at the dinner table! I love supporting parents to be able to play with and understand their child better each day.

What I like most about being an SLP: I love being an SLP because I get to help my clients find their voices, gain independence, and be understood by others. I have the opportunity to learn what is most important to a child and their family, and provide resources and strategies for achieving their goals. We also have a lot of fun in the process!
If I could have any super power, it would be: To understand and use every language (including animal ones) – to speak with anyone in the world!

Areas of training & expertise:I have been practicing as an SLP since 2016 in a variety of adult and pediatric settings including public schools, specialized schools, an inpatient rehabilitation hospital, and several outpatient clinics. I have completed additional training in: PROMPT (Introductory, Level 1 Training), Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) for both low and high-tech systems, cognitive impairments in brain injury/concussion, and Signing Exact English (SEE, Introductory Level).
